Airtel extends 10 GB free data more 3 months

India’s top telecom company, Bharti Airtel, is expanding its free data scheme, dubbed as Airtel Surprises, for 3 extra months, Chief Executive of the company, Gopal Vittal, claimed in an email to post-paid users.

Under this scheme, the Sunil Mittal-headed telecom company has been providing free 10 GB of 4G data each month to the post-paid customer.

The new expansion can be seen targeted at up surging high-value post-paid customers. It is also intended to stop possible port out requests in the era of strong competition from Reliance Jio Infocomm.

“Now as the monsoons come, we are distributing another shower of Internet data your way. I am happy to share that we are expanding the data surprise by more 3 months. Now you can get the extra data for 3 more billing cycles. All you need to do is claim your surprise on My Airtel app after July 01, 2017,” Vittal’s mail reads.

Airtel had previously rolled out new global roaming plans for its traveling users to make sure that they are safeguarded from bill shocks. For example, if an Airtel user is traveling to Britain and has not activated any plan, then for his destination, Airtel’s daily plan costs Rs 499 and comprises free data, limitless incoming calls, SMS, and calls to India. If daily usage goes beyond Rs 499, Airtel will routinely activate the Rs 499 pack at no additional cost.

If usage charges are less than Rs 499, a user will only be charged on the basis of the rates that are applicable. Bharti Airtel rolled out digital customer care platform last week in 11 different languages. *121# Digital Care is easy to use and quick platform for Airtel prepaid users to get fundamental details such as recharge validity and balance amount, and information of last few transactions, the Gurgaon-based telecom claimed in a statement to the media.

Apart from Hindi, the service is available in Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu, Bangla, Kannada, Assamese, and Oriya, which as per the company assist millions of Airtel prepaid mobile users across the nation in accessing the service.
