Ducati India launches refreshed Scrambler with updates

Ducati India had recently stopped the production of the BSIII-compliant models from its array of products comprising various models of Scrambler. It has now rolled out its family of Scramblers with mandatory updates.

It has launched three of its Scrambler motorcycles including Scrambler Icon for Rs 8, 48,000, Scrambler Classic for 7, 23,000, and for the off-roaders, Scrambler Desert Sled that comes with a price tag of Rs 9, 32,000 (Ex-showroom price, India). The Italy–based premium motorcycle maker has initiated bookings for the upgraded BS-IV compliant Scrambler models in India. The bookings can be done as the motorcycles are available across dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Kochi, and Pune.

Coming on to the specification, the Ducati Scrambler motorcycles are fueled by the BSIV 803CC, twin-cylinder, 75 BHP, air and oil-cooled engine. The company claims that the upgrades in the new scramblers include new all-engine calibration and throttle control that keeps the power delivery smooth, specifically at the bottom end of the desired rev range.

The recently appointed managing director of Ducati India, Sergi Canovas Garriga, claimed that we have launched an off-road segment motorcycle in India for the first time. These wheels are motivated by the Scrambler family that was produced in the late 60s and 70s. The Scrambler DesertSled delivers the pure spirit of the motorcycling with an uncomplicated engine, wide handlebars, and endless fun. The bike perfectly suits for the runway as well as performs great on an off-road travel.

Fascinatingly, the Desert Sled option in the Scrambler family comes with a brand new chassis design, which Ducati claims to be appropriate for soft off-road travel applications.

The high mudguards, engine skid plate, modified suspension as well as frame, and type-approved headlight mesh guard altogether delivers a high-quality experience in the off-road expeditions, says Ducati India. The all new Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled will be available in elegant shades of white and red and comes with great apparel line as well as accessories.

The Scrambler family of the mid-sized street motorcycle comes under 800CC to 1000CC segment that in FY 2016–2017 reported total sales of 1,250 units. This segment also witnessed a fall by 37.28% YOY.
